Hannah Andrade-Samala

Program Associate for Medical Research

Hannah Andrade-Samala is the program associate for medical research at the Doris Duke Foundation. In this capacity, she manages administrative operations, strategic event coordination and grantmaking processes that advance the Medical Research Program’s initiatives to prevent, diagnose and treat human disease by strengthening and supporting clinical research.

With a strong interest in medical research and a passion for effecting impactful change, Andrade-Samala brings a wealth of experience in design, product development, project management and business administration across diverse industries. Before joining the foundation, Andrade-Samala played a key role in driving growth and innovation in both startup and established companies. She collaborated on surface design projects with clientele ranging from fashion companies to museums, hotels, universities and a hospital. She was also instrumental in propelling the rapid expansion of a startup through boutique brand partnerships. As a product manager and merchandise coordinator, she optimized operations and capitalized on product market opportunities.

Andrade-Samala holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of the Philippines and an Associate of Applied Science in textile and surface design from the Fashion Institute of Technology, where she graduated magna cum laude. She continues to expand her skill set through certifications, including data analytics and UX design.
